Home Remedies: Olive Oil

I love home remedies. They are inexpensive and just plain old fun for me to experiment with. As a beauty addict with special skin care needs I've tried a few of these remedies in hopes that they'd alleviate my problems and oh, the home remedies I've tried… Most home remedies, while well meaning, didn't do anything significant for my skin, but had immediate benefits that I've loved. Many of them have failed. OK, maybe "failed" isn't the right term, so much as that they just didn't do anything of significance, but one thing (or one product) that always seems to never let me down is Olive Oil.

Double Duty: Vaseline Petroleum Jelly

In an effort to save money and keep my makeup bag light, I occasionally like to keep products on hand that multitask. These products come in hand regularly - especially when traveling. So I've decided to highlight some of my favorite things that have more than one (or two) uses.

You know how in the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding the father puts Windex on everything? Well, Vaseline is my Windex. Most people know this already, but, if I may quote my favorite hot sauce slogan, I put that shit on everything! It's a constant mainstay in my makeup bag - even when rotating seasonal items.

Product Review: Sensitive Hydrating Eye Cream

I don't know about you but this winter is doing a number on my skin. Now, technically, I have no right complaining about winter skin [I live in South Florida] but even in my part of the country we've been hit with an unusually cold winter - some nights in the low 30's! Personally, I love it; It's a nice break from the constant heat and humidity, but the colder weather has been bringing new beauty issues to figure out: Dry skin around my eyes.

Now, I have dry skin to begin with, and since I've only been suffering from dry skin since the beginning of this winter I've never had to deal with the discomfort since now. It feels like what I'd imagine crying for several hours feels like, plus you get red, irritated, crusty eyes… OK maybe crusty isn't the right word, but you get where I'm headed.

Introduction (Part II)

Hello again! Welcome to my little beauty nook. My name is Cassie and I am a product whore. ☺ I also have a confession: I have terrible skin. Well, it’s more of a unique skin situation; I have dry, sensitive skin and adult acne - bad adult acne. ☹ I also have an unhealthy adoration for makeup and beauty products. Most people will tell you that if you have bad skin, stay away from makeup -or- use it sparingly, or hardly ever, and I agree! ...To an extent. What if you want to wear makeup, or what if you have to? Well, for starters, find the best products for your condition; sensitive products that work well and that do little to aggravate your existing problem.

So what business do I have creating a beauty blog if I have terrible skin? I hope this blog will help people who are like me – people with special skin care needs but love to play around with their look and want to do so with little consequence. I hope to help people choose the best and safest products and still encourage people to have fun with their look.

But this wont be just a makeup and skincare blog. Hair, nails and body products will be covered too. I want to leave nothing out. Why? Because I love it all! Need help finding the best products or solutions for damaged hair? Well, I’ve got experience in that. Need a moisture rich body cream for the cold winter weather? I’m your girl! Got a beauty emergency that needs a quick fix? A pimple that’s reared it little head 2 days before your job interview or big date? I’ve got a few ideas you could try. Introduction

My name is Cassie and I'm so excited to be starting this new blog! I have so many ideas as to what I'd like to do with this place so I hope you'll stick around to see what I've got in store.

This is going to be my little place for all things related to beauty. Aside from product reviews, I'd like to delve into some artistry and make up ideas as well as the standard beauty blog topics you'll find on the web, with my perspective added to the mix.
